LTIMindtree introduces a new appraisal process under the My Career My Growth scheme that emphasizes the importance of technical skills for managerial roles, blending coding and mathematical proficiency with project performance assessments. LTIMindtree mandates skill tests for managerial salary hikes Do the best IT managers have to be good programmers and mathematicians? At LTIMindtree, the answer is changing. The firm has revamped its appraisal process, where competence tests are a major influencer of salary hikes for middle and senior managers. The idea is to ensure that leaders are competent with new technologies and maintain high professional standards.
Under the My Career My Growth (MCMG) scheme, LTIMindtree now assesses project leads, managers, and lead architects on both project performance and competency tests—each having an equal weightage of 50%. These assessments test coding and mathematical abilities, reaffirming how technical skills matter even in leadership positions.

It’s good to have some amount of technical competency so they will need to know basics in latest tech atleast but they must actually measure leadership and managerial skill set with scenarios and situations and how would they handle it.
