Trending @HCL; Do not know it's because good work or bad work.

So I am working in a project from last 1.5 year. Everything is soo good,.I have a USA based RM, doing WFH since in this project, I can avail leave any day, I get my full shift allowance, working hours are flexible mostly I log in at 6.30 PM IST as it's 8.30 AM in USA, and almost logged of after 5 hour's (11.00PM IST/12.30 PM EST). I am doing good Daily call with my RM I do important task. Even my RM is soo understanding he don't ask or ping once it's 12 Am midnight indian time.

So the problem is, Now he have asked me to get involved into another project which he have along with the current one, as this is a new project onboarding and same work will be in this one as well. I can reduce my work in the current project so no workload will increase. My doubt is that I am suspecting is it may be because I did something wrong that's why he is assigning me into his other project.

I know I typed alot and it may be hard to understand but yes, I don't want to take help from any AI, if you got my point please suggest what it could mean?.....

If you are going to be allocated in this new project parallel to your US one then It's fine. But some of them get extra smart and make sure the allocation is in a single project but assign you work on another one (non exclusively). I have been there done that and got no recognition and once it's done no one will remember your good work.

Your manager trust you & he believes that you can handle this new project which is coming in, so i suggest say yes to him.

Hey, think about the positives. If your work has issues, Mgr will try to replace you, not engage in his other project 😊 Also, talking daily with RM maybe related to current deliverables. Have a monthly checkin for 15 minutes or so, you can take feedback from him to know his expectations. My point is you should not think about it, it should be transparent.

Thanks for your positive suggestion. I should discuss this with him from my POV.

Maybe he is considering your promotion and assigning more responsibilities. Just an assumption :)

Update: It now a much hectic environment. My manager expects me to available for both the projects even if they are overlapping (same time meetings in both accounts) and somewh I can feel now I am getting a bad impact in my manager POV.
