Trending @Cognizant; Why are people caring about hikes so much when we get a meagre 3-5% anyway?
And why are senior associates and above people not bothered when they at least get decent hikes?

Why are seniors ok with this? I see seniors in my team work so hard and even they aren't getting hikes i guess. Yet they give it their all. If everyone collectively started making silent noise about this, maybe Ravi would stop with this crap
Tbh, nobody's okay with it. Who doesn't want a raise? But it's an individual's own way of reacting to things. Seniors, who you are talking about, who have been into the market for long, who have seen this trend happening earlier as well knows simply making noise, showing annoyance won't make any difference, rather hitting the right soft point at the right time shall help a bit. There's a cycle which every industry follows. Focus on upskilling yourself during times like this and be ready to grab opportunity as and when it comes. Remember smallest in the room barks the loudest. Roar where required.
Ps: I myself is very disappointed and disheartened with the current news of delaying the already delayed hikes.
May be seniors or mid levels like me have no energy to focus on these things rather focus on upskilling and leaving when they have an opportunity. My advise dont trust the employer for hikes, please switch company every 2-3 yrs.
