Trending @Cognizant; Why am I allocated 1% to billable projects while logging 100% on a non-billable one?
I’m trying to understand how project allocation and timesheet mapping work. • My assignments show 3 billable projects with only 1% allocation each, and 1 non-billable project with 100% allocation. • For timesheets, I’m asked to log all hours under the non-billable project. • Another SA resource in my team has 100% allocation to a billable project and logs directly under that.
The situation is: I am a fully dedicated resource for one of the billable projects, and for the other two I’m a backup for a specific tower. But on paper, my contribution doesn’t reflect as billable since my timesheet is tied to a non-billable project.
My concern is — does this setup impact management visibility of my contributions? And could it affect promotions or hikes since I’m not directly shown as 100% billable?
Would really appreciate some clarity on how this is usually handled.

Hey , please sort this out asap. If you are working full time and not billing on it. Talk to your line mgr. As this affects your utilisation -> performance rating -> increment. Standard is 40-50% of rating weight is utilisation. It may not go to worse , so better talk to your mgr that what is the plan for your billing.

However my utilisation is 100

My personal experience is the same. I worked full time non billable for 9 months. It directly affects my ratting promotion and the hike.

Utilization will impact for promotion

Unbillable don't have any value, ur just surviving.

Are there any M, SM or AD level resources here who can give better clarity on my query?
