Trending @Cognizant; What exactly is the “Tech Lead” promotion between Associate & Senior Associate?

I’ve noticed a few people getting moved into a Tech Lead role, but their band/designation still shows Associate, not Senior Associate.

Wanted to understand from those who’ve seen this closely: • Is Tech Lead an actual band/designation change or just a role change? • Does it come with a salary increase, and if yes, roughly how much? • Is this something that typically happens between Associate → Senior Associate, especially in EPS? • What are the requirements or criteria to be considered for a Tech Lead role? • Years of experience? • Skill depth / certifications? • Project criticality or client visibility? • Manager nomination? • Does taking up a Tech Lead role improve chances of faster band promotion later?

Trying to understand if this is a formal path or more of a project-driven role assignment.
