Trending @Cognizant; Stuck with support.
I joined in 2022 as a PA. Initially got training in development, later got placed in support project. Hated my role, had discussion with my manager. He said that I have to gain experience first, then only they can release me and once they released me I can go for the role which interests me. Fast forward to present. Got released from that project. I have done so many certs and courses regarding the skill which interests me. Now the TMP are not allowing me to search for the role which I need. All the people which I try to connect say that I must have some hands-on exp in the work to take me into their project. They believe that I have knowledge but are not will to offer me any role. And what hurts me the most is that I got offers from other technologies which i do not have any hands-on. Only they are related to support. These people will try to convince me that the work is very easy and it does matter even if I don’t have any knowledge in the work. They will give KT for 3 weeks and boom I will be ready to work. I don’t want to work in that kinda work.

Lie in your resume that you have experience in **** Technology! Search outside.

Raise release request from tmp, and you will get a one-to-one discussion with the manager clearly saying I am interested in development. Not in support... In the meantime, you start to prepare to give an interview to get a good company.

Search outside it would be good for as you are on bench so you can join on immediate

Competition is tough. Serviced base companies will have lot of openings in support compared to development. If you are confident in your development skills apply outside.

Easy answer would be you don’t get so don’t lose people easily in support… no one want to work there… so such pushy culture is there with newbies… even in support you can do some side projects by your own and gain confidence in resume… only certifications will not help
