Trending @Cognizant; Seeking Suggestions on Resignation Timing and Career Move

I am currently working as a PA with 2 years and 10 months of experience. I will complete 3 years in June.

Due to some eligibility criteria, I was not considered for promotion in the current cycle. I discussed this with my supervisor and manager - they mentioned I might get auto-promoted, but even after completing 3 years, it still depends on meeting certain eligibility criteria. If not promoted this year I need to wait till the next promotion cycle which is in next year February, but also I am not sure it will be worth waiting for the promotion.

Given this uncertainty, I am considering resigning in coming July and exploring opportunities elsewhere.

Is this the right time to resign and make a move? Can you please share your thoughts?

Are you getting good work and opportunities to work on the latest technology and learning something? Then stay. First 5 Years in your career that is the most important factor. PA-A promotion is nothing. I have seen good for nothing PA’s being promoted. It means nothing . If you are not getting enough work and learning much with your current role then you can consider upskilling and switch.
