Trending @Cognizant; Promotion from A to SA
I have joined CTS in Dec 2017. Got promoted to Associate in June 2021. I have been working hard and the only senior technical guy for the project. In April 2024, when the yearly hike was delayed, I have asked my HCM for promotion.
I have got below ratings. 2021 - 4 2022 - 5 2023 - 4 2024 - 5
HCM informed me that he has informed Senior management and they are looking into it. They will provide me promotion for sure but it might take sometime. It's been 2 months now, I have no news of my promotion.
I wanted to ask is there any criteria for A to SA promotion? In there any timeframe during which the A to SA promotion is enabled? Or is it random based on Associate performance, ratings and Years of experience?

the Talent Manager can create an SO at the early of the month and is valid or active for 2 weeks to get approved by the Principal Architect of your horizontal or lead in your Horiszontal.
I was told by the Assistant Portfolio Director, that the criteria for A to SA would be
- 2 years of experience in one role in a project/account.
- the rating should not be less than 3 in the last 2 years.
In my case, I am satisfying both the criteria but my promotion is not approved just because I did not attend office 3 days per week in the last 3 months (I attended 1 or 2 times per week) and I have 7 years of experience in Associate Designation.
