When can we expect an e-letter to know about the current merit after getting promoted and one more query is that I have an offer from Infosys for 11 LPA but the location is Bangalore not my base location so should I switch or retained in cognizant with this promotion or not

Better to switch. Even if you got a promotion this quarter, you will only get a 10 - 20 percent hike. I believe 11LPA is good offer if your current offer is around 4.5 to 5 lpa.
