I have a offer with 37% Hike and my cureent company cognizant proposed an 30% hike as retention offer. What do you think will the other company revise the offer letter if I say i am getting 30% retention offer?

If you are getting 30% its better to stay back as you are offered only 37% in the new company. Here we will atleast have job security, new companies hire and fire policies are bad.

Is cognizant retaining you providing 30% offer?? If so when they will release the updated increment letter?

I am not sure about that. I need to infrom the decision

5 months back I got retained because of some personal issues, they offered me only 20% hike when new company was giving 40% when I asked for atleast 30% HR told me that retention policy is only 20% not more than that, don't know why these double standards

for me my Delivery lead just told that they would give promotion to retain and nothing besides that.

Cognizant also offers retention bonuses for 6 months each along with the 30% hike, if you accept their retention offer. And as I believe for 3.5 years 37% is way less, so get retained and gain more working knowledge and try switching by November or December as Hiring cycles for most of the companies will start at that time.

You will not get 30% in cognizant, join other companies

In this case you can consider your learning graph, are you really learning new things getting challenges in the work , better you should move if learning is stagnant .it will help to build career
