Hope everyone is doing great.
What is the right approach i should take to get my desired salary hike %.
For 5+ years exp i feel underpaid now I have 2 options
- Switch my job
- Ask my manager to retain me with my expected hike %
Would it be wise to discuss with my manager if any possibility of retaining me or I should stay silent and only talk after getting new job offer?

@FrugalMind5786 am also in same situation bro.. 5yoe in cognizant with less pay.. not sure if managers will revise the ctc.. better to look outside

We can only be sure if we ask about it. Also it depends how critical resource you are if they can easily replace you then its over only option is to switch your job . But if you are critical then they might consider

First try to get an offer with higher ctc , then talk to your manager.

You can clear your expectations to your Manager and see what they say. Their response could give you the clarity. And, you can take the next step accordingly.
