Are we supposed to take calls and support project work during leaves? My understanding is no. But people around seem to be doing this quite often.
I absolutely do not want to do it but will there be consequences.

You are not supoosed to work on leaves. The people around you must be stupid to work on leaves.

Absolutely not needed to work bcz they want you to work. leave is a leave ,and do not be availble on leaves and do not reply.Tell your team if they call you that u have somework to take care.or u r out of station.
