I’ve been thinking—does staying long in a company even make sense anymore?

Here’s my situation: • We recently got promoted late, but the CTC is the same for ratings 3, 4, and 5. So, where’s the differentiation? • Back in August 2024, we got just a 3% hike after waiting 1.5 years, because the last increment was in April 2023. • People who got early promotions (when they were on a lower CTC) have now reached the same salary as us. • This means those who waited longer for promotion gained nothing extra—no special hike, no benefit.

So, what’s the point of being loyal to the company when increments don’t reward tenure, performance, or patience?

Curious to hear from others—has anyone else felt the same way? Is this common in other companies too?
