Trending @Cognizant; I got an email for a new role

Today in cognizant we get an email stating that an exciting opportunity is awaiting in adm. There are many job openings however I have to apply for one job which is Java Springboot, for that profile we have to drop an email with details like profile & confirmation from the current supervisor on your release with a date of availability, so I can ask my manager and get release if they do not select me what will be the issue to me?
