I got 3 rating and I am not happy with it. I reached our my manager and asked him that I am not happy I want to escalate it. He connected with me and tried to explain shits that cuz of this and that you got 3, and also told me if I escalate the discussions will be dirty. So, I told him that I want release than. Again we connect and he asked me do I have offer in hand, I said no. He told me that don’t leave like this market is hard every project is like this…bla bla bla.
At some points he makes scene and at some place I feel like he is doing this so that I won’t leave.
He told me has a lot of backups to fill me up. He is just concerned about me. He don’t want me to take some harsh decisions.
Who is right? He or me? What should I do? Sometime I feels he is right, nobody cares about anyone but he is taking time to talk to me and discuss about my career plans. (He talked about 2 hrs).
And sometime I am feeling he is doing this so that I don’t escalate him as well I don’t leave.

First thing, if u escalate also nothing gonna change.
Second thing, he needs u to be in the project. Might be u r in that good position in the project and may impact deliverables of the project if u leave, which will be difficult to your manager to arrange a backup up to your mark.
Third thing, he is not your well wisher to care that much and take a call for 2 hrs. What if suddenly your project gets ramp down? Will he going to keep u with him?? Next minute he will search for his project and will go away. All these are office politics.
But think twice before taking decisions mate. 🤟
If you escalate you have to be 100% perfect and have supporting documents. If he has just 1 point or mistake on you documented against you then you are finished. IT and corporate are just like politics. We know the politicians are wrong, corrupted and looting the country. What can you do about it going against the politicians?
