Trending @Cognizant; Freelancing with a Full Time Job

Is it safe to work on freelancing platforms like Upwork or Fiverr while having a full-time job? Are there specific risks we should be aware of (like Form 26AS showing up during background checks, or company moonlighting policies)? Would appreciate inputs from anyone who has experience managing this

I dont think so it should create any problem until n unless you are not working with same client or creating the same thing that you are creating in cognizant. You signed with cognizant to work for 10 hrs. Apart from that you can do anything. That doesnt consider as moonlighting.

Also many of the Directors n above are board members of other companies. So does it consider as moonlighting for them too?

But again please check with your manager for this.

Any income from platforms like upwork or Fiverr will be reflecting in form 26AS. Companies these days ask for form 26AS during background verification, and then they will get to know that I was freelancing while being fully employed with my previous organisation. Is that correct?

I don’t think they ask for Form 26AS. They only ask for form 26 alone that too to verify whether you have filled tax Only way they do to validate your income is through PF accounts.
