Trending @Cognizant; Forced resignation

Is it true that if you are not able to get any project within 35 days of being on PDP then HR will force you to resign ?

It is not like that. I stayed in bench for nearly 6 months. I know people who stayed in bench for as long as 9 months and then got assigned due to immediate requirement without giving any interview.

They don't do much till Associate level.

They are not at associate level, they may be PA or PAT. Cognizant doesn’t force freshers till they complete 2 years.

Just for your info, I was also a Associate when I was in bench for 6 months.

Yes for PA/A level they will strech upto 50+ days after 58 day you will get mail from HR to come to office for Face to face discussion regarding why not getting project. Then HR will give 2 options, if you say yes for resignation on that day itself you will get 5 months salary, if you say no they will move you in the termination bucket, but in that you still get 3 months salary and might be they write wrong thing in the experience letter. Better to go with the first option IMO.

Yes. for some people's, pdp date will extend like 10 more days. even after 45 days if you will not get the project. HR will call you to resign with 3 conditions.

  1. Take 5 months salary and resign
  2. They will terminate
  3. you resign without taking 5 months salary

now choice is yours

It’s voluntary resignation. I don’t think there is any salary.
