Trending @Cognizant; Feeling Stuck in My Career: Looking for Guidance

I joined Cognizant in Aug 2022 as a programmer Trainee , hoping to learn new technologies, work on meaningful projects, and grow my career. However, after completing training, I was left waiting for projects that offered little to no real work and went through two diffrent training in two domains It feels like I’ve wasted two important years, and my motivation has dropped. I’m also struggling with a low salary which is also affecting as I am fed up with the relatives, family and friends questions about salary, promotion and hikes I don't have answer for them and also I don't have proper/enough experience in any single domain to switch job and change the company . I need advice on how to break free from this situation, focus on the right skills, set clear goals, and regain control of my career.

Please as mentor or advisor help me with your suggestion and feedback, I would be very grateful to you.

Pick one domain and prepare for interviews. No company can check if you have worked on projects if you are good with basics. Start showing 2 year experience in your chosen domain. Don't tell all truth in resume, nobody cares. Be confident. Don't worry even if you don't know many things, nobody does. Just keep trying. Switch can take time. But it will worth it. All the best.

Bro stick to one technology.Pick one in this weekend and from next week give atleast 3 months to that technology. Its okay not to have real time project experience but when you are giving an interview you should be confident in yourself and the technology you have prepared. So start preparing now.Hope you find this information useful.

Thanks for the solid advice! I’ll focus on one technology and prepare with confidence. Your support gives me hope and motivates me to learn new things. What do you think about focusing on multiple technologies as it opens door for multiple opportunities??

From my perspective it is a very bad idea.Work on only 1 and be confident in it.

If you already wasted 2years, then you have to start now. Choose some technology like ReactJs, Java which have job opportunities and start upskilling yourself and once you done half a preparation start giving interviews parallelly also talk with few friends who are working in that particular technology for project experience questions. If you are consistent you will get job within a year.

it’s frustrating when things don’t go as planned. I think other companies might have similar situations, but I’m not sure. We just need to keep moving forward and find a way to improve things. 💪 🤝
