Trending @Cognizant; As a fresher, I don't get any work in my project.
Hi everyone, I joined in December 2023 and completed my training in March. In May, they randomly tagged me in a project and it's been one month and my project manager hasn't talked to me about any work. Nor did he give me any learning to do. I am confused now what to do. I came to the office and the whole day went to waste.
When will they give me actual work to do. Is it normal in cognizant.
And what should I do as a fresher to get hands on work. I want to gain experience.

Have the opposite experience. I joined in July as PA. Didn't have any work for 3 months, but after they have literally bombarded me with too much work. Enjoyed first 6 months, but not it's getting out of hand.

Well it's only been one month for me. But having some work is better then no work.

You say that, but when you have to work 10+ hours daily and devote some time even on weekends to get the work done on so called artifical time, it gets annoying. Like my biggest complaint is despite me being the junior member of the team, all the development work is always given to me for some reason, even though i don't posses the skills to complete it. But it's my attitude, i always give my 100% no matter what. And eventually that gets the work done on time.

This is very common, cognizant doesn't really give work to juniors cause they are afraid to teach them and waste time on them, if you have time go for a switch else the carrier is ruined.

Its not just cognizant no other companies are interested to take 0-2 yrs experience candidates and to train them and give them work. Everyone wants 2+ yrs experienced candidates.

Completely opposite in our team. I'm PA and my seniors basically chill while all the development work is given to me. Any production issue, they'll first come to me even though I'm the newest member in the team.

Same

Its better to try for other opportunities as early as u can as there are many people who have been tagged in projects for a year without any work.Try to upskill and move as soon as u can.

Take a problem in your project and fix
