I went to party with colleagues last week and I complimented someone on their dress. She made a big tantrum about how that was inappropriate. But on the other hand, when our boss made the same comment but even more crass then she was very jovial and upbeat.
What did I do wrong here? Have you seen this double standard happen too at Capgemini?

I am not praising capgemini but this does not have anything to do with company if he/she will go to other company they will behave in same way. Its on person how they want to take the comment and from whom. Just have a one to one conservation and tell forgot abt my comment. If she is not accepting it then leave and move forward dude

Forget about it. She might be a golden digger, let her dig. And you are not the boss, man...., once you are the boss, u can expect the same as what her boss got from her. And don't judge anyone just like that. ✌️

Its very easy to say gold digger, but may be she also scared to loose job in current market thats why she didn't replied to boss and did she done anything wrong with creator of post or filed any complaint, it happens many times with women

First of all don't worry. Second why would you compliment the opposite gender in the current scenario where it can become an issue? third, boss can help her climb the ladder faster but you can't so she has no reason to be good with you. Sarcastically

Just say sorry and move on. You are thinking too much. You may be fresher but just keep in mind that just first be friend of someone and think twice before saying. And if you wanted to say if like n alm just say it nicely and may be one on one not in front of public
