Trending @Capgemini; Should You Specify the Reason for Taking Sick Leave During Periods?
When experiencing severe period cramps and heavy bleeding, you might need a day or two off if it becomes overwhelming. I find it easier to request this from a female boss. However, it becomes more complicated if your boss is male. Discussing such personal issues feels embarrassing and awkward. It often seems simpler to just say you're taking a sick day or need a personal day off.
When requesting leave from a male boss, figuring out how to ask can be tricky. Should you be upfront about the reason for your absence? Sometimes, honesty might be beneficial as it could lead to better understanding and easier approval of the leave, especially since you can't always excuse yourself with a fever or cold.
I'm wondering how to navigate this issue. Does it bother you to ask your male boss for such leave, or is it just me overthinking it?

Just tell you are sick and taking a day off. Its your personal matter. Usually people wont ask you what kind of sickness you have, especially to ladies. If that person is so particular in knowing the exact reason, tell the truth, thats it. Next time onwards he wont ask (hopefully)

Not required in the first place. In case you are comfortable to share you can .

You don't have to mention of you don't want to. Just say you are not well

All I have to say is. Grow up!

Take it, it's your right to have privacy 👍 after backing informing it was on leave due personal reasons.

No harm in telling.

Just overthinking go ahead apply leave and mention in the comments
