Trending @Capgemini; Seeking Career Advice: Transitioning to a Technical Role

Hey everyone, I need some career advice. I started as a Cloud Infrastructure Analyst at CG right after college and now work as a non-tech TAC Engineer at Cisco. They demoted me to an Associate 1, and the work isn't technical at all.

I'm eager to move into a more technical role but unsure if I should wait it out for 2 years or resign now and search for new opportunities (considering my 3-month notice period). My manager isn’t open to an early release. Is it worth the risk to resign and try to secure a job within those 3 months? Also, can I withdraw my resignation if things don't go as planned?

Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences. Thanks!!

Try applying for jobs outside and analyse the market situation in like 15 days and then take a call.
Yes, the notice period at CG is too long and some companies expect a notice period of 2 months or less.

On my analysis of the job market, interview calls are being scheduled for 3-4years+ experienced people. If you fall in that bracket you can take a call and resign. But then it still depends on your skills and the demand for your skills in the market. That is for you to analyze. And I think you can withdraw your resignation if things do not go well in a job hunt if you can convince your manager and HR that is.

All the very best keep up the grind !!
