Trending @Capgemini; Release from current project

When I asked release from current project to explore other technologies in other project, my manager is telling it will take 4months to get a new project and find a replacement of me and in this 4months I need to work in current project only..is this true? If not how to release from current project as soon as possible?

No not. I asked for release as I’m working from last 3 years on same project and getting same repeated work with less hike and no promotion so I got rid of that. I took release this month end . I will be free

You got any confirmation mail ? I also asked release and TL agred to release and trying to find replacement but didn't mention any exact date any suggestions
