Trending @Capgemini; Regarding back to the office BTO

Hi guys,

i have been working from home due to personal reasons and haven't faced any issues so far. However, I have now been asked to fill out the BTO exemption form, where I need to specify the start and end dates.

I was wondering what the consequences might be if I continue working from home without visiting the office. My team is not based in my location either. Could this lead to termination, or has there been any case of termination due to BTO non-compliance?

Never heard of termination due to BTO non-compliance however they will send you warning email. I am in my hometown as my previous project was remote, I had to take self release due to medical reasons. I did fill BTO exemption because my name falls under defaulters list and they informed me that I will get warning email if I won’t go to office. I was on bench from 1st feb till day before yesterday. Now my team is asking me to relocate to my base location that is Bangalore so I will be relocating next month.

Filling BTO exemption is as easier I mean no one objected for the same?
And how about if you don't visit office moving forward as well?

BTO exemption requires strong reasons and approval from your People Manager. Once it get approved then there won’t be issues but there is a procedure like if you want to apply for BTO from tomorrow onwards it wont work because it gives options either for 7 future days or 14 future days based on your selection of reason.

Back to office , if we are not able to attend office due to valid reasons, we can raise BTO exception form and People manager, Practice manager has to approve for BTO Exception so we can work from home.

BTO exception allow you to work remotely. And you can apply on success factor. However, it only works if you got approval at least 7 days before the exception date.

If your project demand you to be in non-general shifts. You can get BTO exception easily.

In my project, monitoring team works remotely only. Because they have to work from night to morning. Also, few people work 3 PM to 12:30 AM, they also have BTO exception to work remotely.

Else, it is difficult to get exception. If you N+1 is chill guy and you justify that you have work on different shift. Then you can get forever BTO exception because of shift.

My Back to Office (BTO) exemption was approved earlier because my people manager was different for February. However, when I submitted a medical document for a BTO exemption again until March 23, it was not approved by my People Manager yet. Despite having a valid medical reason, instead of approving it, they are pressuring me to get HR involved in it and asking me to submit documents again separately to them, I have been working for several years though in CG.

But BTO exemption days have to be filled for 7 future days
