Trending @Capgemini; On Bench Since DOJ, First HR call tomorrow - Need Urgent Advice
Hi Everyone,
I joined Capgemini on 16th May 2025 as a Consultant (B2). Initially, I was supposed to be part of the SCB project, but after joining, I was informed the project got cancelled. Since then, I’ve been on bench, attending trainings and waiting for allocation.
As per my offer letter:
Probation period → 6 months
Notice period during probation → 3 months if I resign, 2 months if the company initiates termination
I’ve also gone through around 5 internal interviews which were scheduled suddenly. Unfortunately, I got rejected in all of them with negative feedback.
I’ve heard from a few colleagues that if you remain unallocated on bench during probation, HR sometimes calls and asks you to leave with 1 month notice + 1 month extra salary.
Now I’m in a similar situation — I have an HR call scheduled tomorrow. 👉 Should I wait for HR’s decision (hoping for a smoother exit + compensation)? 👉 Or should I resign and serve notice (though it’s 3 months in the current Java backend market)?
Would appreciate suggestions from those who’ve been in this situation before.
Thanks in advance 🙏

I think it’s better to wait for the HR call. If they initiate the exit, the process will be smoother and you might even get some extra benefits. No point rushing to resign and ending up with a longer notice of 3 months

I agree .I started looking for outside opportunities as senior java developer but all want max 1 month notice period. So,it is better to get updates from their side otherwise 90 days notice period and it's difficult to get calls.

Don't initiate anything by your own. Wait what HR is offering to you. Keep searching outside, in case you get good opportunity outside speak with your resource manager and convince him/her for smooth release.

Yes, HR along with the PMO and staffing partner contacted me. They informed me about my date of joining, how many days I have been on bench, and the opportunities where I got rejected. They advised me to take the feedback, improve, and get allocated immediately. They also said they will connect back in a few days regarding my probation status and whether I will continue with Capgemini or not.

Same thing happened with me.they will asked you to resign with 1 month notice period and 1 month extra pay.i suggest you should resign because you get time prepared well as no calls is coming in this days and interview is tough.so resign from yourside you 3 month pay and time also.i regret of not resigning from myself. Please don't commit my mistake

What happened bro? Did the HR speak with you?
