Trending @Capgemini; Need some lights on the situation
Hi folks, I’m currently in notice period. My last working day is on August. My current project release me one month prior of my last working day. So I will be on bench on last month. Now my question is, will capgemini release me early? Or they will put me on bench and complete the notice period? Or they will put me on another project for last one month? Any idea about this?

Most likely it will be bench.. the policy for now is to serve full notice period

Central HR team is not approving any early release.
Last month on bench is standard practice. They utilize that time for revocation of client/project data access. Basically you won't be a billable resource for the client but your pay will still be paid for from the project budget.
You won't be put on another project but your N+1 can still ask you to conduct knowledge sharing sessions during that period.
Assume you won't have your laptop for the last 2 weeks.

Is that possible? I mean I can submit my laptop 2 weeks before on my last working day? Thanks for your thought!

@LivelyMode If you have opted for remote pickup, you absolutely can submit 2 weeks before. For final clearance, your laptop needs to be untagged from your account for the no dues certificate to be generated for IT.

I think they should release you early, because I don't see a point in giving someone a free salary if they can't be deployed to any work. But that's my thinking, what I have seen here is management people are kind of confused and cry wolf about policies and all, so yeah they might make you serve a full notice period. Meanwhile use free learning sources like udemy and pluralsight.

Yes. I feel the same way. They might not release me early. That’s the policy. Let’s see!
