Trending @Capgemini; Mode of Rent Payment - HRA exemption

Hi,

Could someone please confirm the acceptable mode of payment for rent to claim exemption for ₹18,000/month?

As per the HGS portal:

If the rent payable exceeds ₹1 lakh per year:

1. It must be paid electronically (via digital mode only).
2. The landlord's PAN is required.

However, my landlord insists that if I need a copy of his PAN card, the rent must be paid in cash.
