I want to switch my project. My people manager told that I have to complete 18 months in the same project after that I’ll be eligible to apply for IJPs. May I know if it is true ?

Yes, generally you need to complete 18 months in a project to apply for IJPs. But sometimes exceptions happen with manager's support

As it’s a last quarter you can ask your manager /engagement manager to release from your current project. There would be high probability of getting release from your current project.
