Trending @Capgemini; Forced Leave on Bench – Is this Common?
Hi All, I’ve been asked by someone from operations to apply 3 days leave in August just because I’m on Bench. I don’t have any planned leaves, and this could slowly exhaust my leave balance.
Is this really a standard practice in Capgemini? Has anyone else faced this? How do you deal with it?
Yeah even I had to apply leaves when I haven't visited office during bench last year, btw are u going to office and still told to apply leaves?
If you don't want to take the leave ask them to mail you, by specifying the reason. They are not allowed to force you to take leave
So thereby it helps to reduce your bench period
Yes they force employees to take leave those who are on the bench.
Yes they forced me to apply leave when i was on bench and did not come to office , I had to apply leave but i also had friends on bench who did not apply leave .
Currently I have only 4days leaves available. It’s understandable if one has lots of leaves accumulated but how reasonable is it for them to say if one is on Bench they have to apply leaves
No, this is not a practice and this sounds so stupid.
Why are they asking you to apply leaves? If it's just because you're on bench, deny them straight away. If you're not doing your 12 days and then asked to apply leaves, nothing you can do.

I am on bench for only 10 days , they will ask for me also for now I m not going to office planing to go from tmw ? Going to join in next project from aug 16
