Trending @Capgemini; For Managers and HRs

I really want to know if there is any such policy that has been introduced in CG from Jan 2024 where an employee has to mandatorily serve a 90 day notice period. He/ she can't even buy out their notice period.

Also tell if an employee is on the bench from the last 5 - 6 months and there is no chance of getting a project in the coming month too, can't he get an early release if he has a better offer from a different company ?

Please do reply to this. I really need a solution because this is my case. It's really important for my career. Hope you'll help me.

Depends on your manager and engagement/team senior leaders.
My team is still offering early release, notice period buyout. Deal pipeline and consequently forecasted skill requirements also plays a role when you are on bench

"Deal pipeline and consequently forecasted skill requirements also plays a role when you are on bench " what does this means, I didn't understand 😅

Also thanks for letting me know that early release and notice period buyout is still there cause my manager and HR have denied me saying policy has changed and it's not possible now.

Large companies go through detailed planning exercises.

Deal pipeline: CG and other IT giants are extremely slow when signing contracts/projects with clients. In fairness, they do have to sort out a lot of legal stuff. Why do you think these companies hire hundreds if not thousands of freshers? only to meet the forecasted resource requirements

Forecasted skill requirements: you are skilled in a technology, e.g. devops, and the company knows they are currently in mid stages of closing a huge deal with a client where resources skilled on devops will be needed but the deal closure is still 4 months away. In such a scenario, they will probably refuse to relase you earlier / not accept notice period buyout

Have you also tried by convincing them with some medical emergency reason ? @Sutlibomb

A month ago i had requested them for wfh with some medical reasons they didn’t approved so i don’t believe they would approve for early release. They would ask for docs for formality and reject after taking much of your time.

Policy exists from decade to serve 90 days notice, it was also mentioned in our offer letter term and conditional which you would have signed while joining CG . Exceptions are their on management discretion , based on market situations of demand and supply .
