Trending @Capgemini; Don't want to be a People Manager. How?

So I'm a Senior Con and got 2 mails assigning me as a People Manager for 2 employees I don't even know. They didn't ask to be one, they just assigned which is stupid!

But I don't wanna be a People Manager. I'm happy with my developmental part. I'd be glad to learn more on that than to be a people manager. It's just a time waste thing and I don't think I can make any kinda impact with that.

I've already replied to the mail, they simply said "reach out to BU Leads and HR" (As usual!)

So, what do I do to get out of this?

What is a people manager?

Your appraiser or reviewer, just name changed. To me, it looks like just a role with no power. I mean the organization does whatever they want to irrespective of people managers' opinion/feedback

Its not something you can shed off. Now a days every C1 is allocated with 3-4 juniors. There was a restructuring done last year, from then onwards people will not be tagged under their direct manager but some random senior from their own practice

That's weird, right? How can I judge someone who is not working with me?

You can discuss with the juniors and assign them their respective people managers

I can do that? Didn't know this. I'll definitely try, thanks!
