We grind all year.
Direct supervisor knows our real effort → gives fair rating.
Then HR (useless people with zero context) swoops in, slashes it without explanation, and vanishes.
Fixed buckets (ACLH, BTO etc.) rule everything.
Pass their checklist? → Safe rating, even if useless on project.
N+1 genuinely rates you Exceptional? → Often overruled anyway.
N+1 should discuss with current supervisor, understand actual contribution, and defend the rating firmly in calibration.
Most don’t or can’t.
Result: A completely useless, demotivating, politics-driven farce.
