Trending @Accenture; Wrongful Termination

Last month I witnessed a termination without cause, The HR team was in contact with one of my colleague who has worked for 1.5 years in the organisation. They asked my colleague to submit all the previous company's details like (Salary slip, experience letter, etc). My colleague was terminated in 3 weeks saying that your background verification has failed. My colleague had the no. of the CEO on the speed dial of their phone plus a mail trail with the same CEO stating that they have worked there. On top of it when we contacted the CEO she said she hasn't received any mail or phone call for verification of any kind but she did receive it a year ago.

Has this happened with anyone, my colleague was only told her verification failed but no specifics of the verification.
