MAL is Months at Level. This value indicates how many months you have been in the same career level. I am not aware about the other term ! Hope this helps

Let's say you were hired for level 10 and you have 5 years 3 month total experience, but level 10 needs an experience of 4 years , rest 1 year 3 months are your extra experience which is added as credit to you
It will be added to MAL. So that you might get early promotion as your MAL will be higher
