Trending @Accenture; Use this method to get WFH. I have tested this method but not in ACN, it was other company and it worked.

Some pre-requisites are:

  1. You must be billable in a project
  2. You should be having balls to sacrifice and suffer for a month or two
  3. It doesn't work if you're earning above 10-12LPA

First step is, rent a PG or flat that's quite far from office at least 1.5 hours far (one way). E.g. your office is PDC3 then rent somewhere around Wagholi. Second step is, you have to look for a PG that has very often electricity cuts. Keep this condition upfront to PG owner that "I'm looking for a PG which has daily power cut for a long time" He may think you're insane but it doesn't matter.

Outcomes will be:

  1. Since your PG is really far you will be travelling for 4-5 hours at least a day per week. Shuttle time is fixed that you must leave by 6:30 and by the time you reach home, no one would care whether you login again or not. During commute, Always hang a teams status message that I can't reply and commuting to home.
  2. Since the PG has daily power cut, the moment electricity is cut you have to instantly put status that there's power failure.

Once few days passes, your productivity will be impacted and noticed by your lead. If he/she is dumb they will ask why is it impacted, if not then they will realize it is due to the fact that you are not in facilitated condition to work. But regardless they will ask, why not move close to office or look for better PG? You have to say, I can't move near office because most of PGs are costly nearby office and I can't afford. I can't look for better PG because better PG are costly and I can't afford that. Keep trying to look like a victim and once there's significant impact on your work this may get escalated to project leads but you must not fear or lose confidence, you have to keep your victim face intact. And eventually your chances to get WFH will highly increase.

I may sound stupid here and you're expected to laugh at me but the risk is not as high as you think and there's very good chance for the decision that's in your favor.

Things to note lead can be unreasonable and your productivity should impact project and last you may not get vp / hike but only where managment is shit.

Why suffer like that, just say all these things when asked. Your supervisor is not going to come in pg to check where you live.
