Trending @Accenture; Unrealistic standards for promotion and hikes

Recently there has been some promotions and hikes. And who all got promotions......well....those who were visible! 🙂 Ones who worked late nights, worked on weekends, dedicated their lives to Accenture🙂. May be coz they don't have life outside office! But what about people who worked hard on weekdays and completed same amount of work with in those 9hr, 5 days a week......well for some reason those people are not visible to leads🙂 Management sucks.....they suck at everything! They can't manage people working under them coz for some reason they don't know who all are working under them! People who really work hard, but work silently ....they suddenly go invisible for them. Isn't it their job, the only job to manage the amount of work and resources and get their feedbacks! But no, if you need promotion or hike you have to go and "dance" in front of them, so they notice you. And the worst part is, some of people who got hikes and promotions, doesn't even deserve it! Some people are soooo dumb, incompetent, skill-less and have almost no knowledge of their domain, that all they have is ability to talk....to talk useless....to talk a lot...to talk senseless in front of leads just to get noticed! This thing, this behavior, really breaks something inside you! No matter how many times you try to shrug it off and try to be better.....after a point you just can't be resilient anymore and it sucks to work for such people! What standard and criteria they have set for hikes and promotions, it really feels as if you are working in shit! Rich and dumbs is getting richer and ruling over whereas deserving people are busy begging for money, and cleaning the mess that such seniors make because of their lack of knowledge and pride! I just wish.....i just wish all deserving people switch to better workplace and accenture crumbles under their own karma!

You seem to be living in a fool paradise where you consider yourself to be some sort of intellectually superior human and other people mere dumbfucks. I think Accenture will be a better place when toxic people like you leave for a better place. You are way immature with your observations. Market forces determine everything and this is no govt org, so if ppl are getting promotions and hikes, it is because they have the “skillset” which your immature mind fails to comprehend.
If you want money then bring “value”. Your worth is not determined by your 9-5 work or i completed my assigned work but the value addition you can provide.
Doing hard work would not lead you anywhere.
Get a reality check!!

@YoPepper You’re right, but not in all cases. Sometimes people get ignored even after doing everything for the project. Then they might get frustated and post their anguish feelings in grapevine etc.

Well this is a common phenomenon in the service based industry. Biasness occurs, whether you believe/like it or not. Promotion/hike are not the basis of you ability.

I suggest, do make efforts after analysing the environment in which you are, if it is going to benefit you.

A better option is to find a well deserved job as per your calibre!

I had same feelings like you. I was lvl up 11 with MAL 38. Even after giving best for 3 years with multiple certifications and automations except from project work , I didn’t got promotion. This cycle they gave as I insisted and talked my concerns to lead and senior management. I had dependency on projected and asked for release incase no promotion is there but they gave the promotion. Keep trying, make dependency , express yourself to leads. Don’t assume that they will give without asking. It’s corporate and we need to showcase yourself to get rewards. All the best for your journey!!😇

Seems like you are one of those who think finishing up work assigned to you and living in solidarity can lead to great heights. If you think resolving 1 bug a day or just completing something assigned to you without taking any intiative in helping others or talking to client will lead you somewhere then you are just another sheep in the herd.

From your post it's clear that you are jealous of everyone who got promoted. Not everyone who get promotions are working hard, they work smart. They know what they need to put their efforts on and how to emerge as a leader rather than a worker.

Not everyone work on weekends, 12+hours everyday, people get promoted for the value they bring to the work in the 9 hrs of work they do and the impact they have every day and not just 1 day a week or month.

Brother/sister, I am telling what is happening, and you are assuming what might have happened! I have worked on many things than just fixing a bug a day! And also have done everything that my supervisor and leads guided me on how to get hike. Your point is somewhat valid, but yes there are a lot of other factors other than smart work, hard work and bringing values to the table!

Genuine advice if you feel like you work is not getting valued enough and your leads are playing favourites talk to your Senior Manager or even go to leadership if you have to. They are there to resolve these issues and ask them to you change your project. Last option is search for a new job and drop papers.

FYI Your post gives the vibe that you are just another person ranting about not getting promotions and it undermines efforts put in by other who got promoted after working hard. If you would have told us a little about your background and what is happening with you in your project it would have helped us give genuine advice. Words are powerful so make sure to use them wisely. One word can make or break your argument.

The only thing we want to know is the person who knows to act better they will deserve better in accenture instead of working hard. Every project the same is happening companies are playing with us .... But what about if a person directly get the project without basing on company.... If this happens then companies will pay more

If one is working with clients then yes, but what if one is working on accenture's internal projects! Sweet talking, hard work, smart work, values.....even if everything is included, there are always some anonymous factors going on in the backend which are deciding the results of your input. Sometimes i feel it is "Obedient people getting more work, and favourite people getting money!"
Really can't tell!
