Trending @Accenture; stay and take chance or leave asap?

i had a word with my manager and she said she can see that I'm a promotion priority in next 6 months as per my rewards statement. I am being underpaid currently and I already once made my mind to leave but i stayed due to the new project opportunity I got 2 months ago that could add heavy weightage to my resume. But here, after 2 months into the project and suffering from the worst management ever, I'm wondering if it is worth waiting until the promotion in June or not. Does anyone know if there are chances there may be promotions in March/April ? and what could the possible hike percentage be

It's a perfect trap for hopefuls like you - tell the person you are doing great and you are a priority. Assign them more or different difficult responsibilities/projects. By the time the next promotion cycle is due, the person will be served with the following reasons and excuses garnished with performance improvement suggestions:

  1. You need to prove yourself in the new/current project. You are assessed for your latest results not for what happened twelve -six months ago.
  2. Sorry, there are going to be no promotions as company results are not good
  3. Your name is there in the promotion list but there are many more in the list before you.
  4. The feedback from your current project lead is not good.
  5. Next six months you are definitely there.

Many many more like this ..they have aced the game of distributing lollipops. Number 4 is very likely in your case as you are already struggling with the management.

thanks. that makes a lot of sense..they've been doing exactly that.. handing me lollipops....now living in uncertainty of a good reward with this micromanaging team where I have already been pointed out for smallest of things...even if they promote by the end of this, it wouldn't feel justified.

Bruh! You need to leave asap. Even if you get promotion you'll hardly get 25%-30% max which is still heavily underpaid per market standards. One switch will bring u atleast 50% and keep job hunt for 90 days NP.

What are you waiting for? If you have spent at least two years for a company like ACN, it's more than enough. Your managers are helpless, and there could be many people who would have resigned by then. In order to retain them, promotions hikes are promised. It's a normal practice. Don't wait, just move on
