Trending @Accenture; Should I tell them or not

Hi guys, I'm into half way of pregnancy and getting scheduled roll off from my current project this month. Only my current supervisor know about my pregnancy now.

When I'll be on bench after roll off I'm not sure if I should tell bench lead about pregnancy or not as seeing lot of force-resignation scenarios nowadays in organisation.

I'm the only bread earner of the family and losing job at this position will be traumatizing to us.

What should I do ?

Don't inform just yet. Inform near ur delivery date. Or if you forsee any issues. ..take early maternity leave...

I might need exception for office visit as for my location there is no office transport available and it takes me almost 2 hrs to reach office. But early ML is a good option.

If you are in a project and you have ML plans then that project cannot release you. Even if they release you bench leads will force them to revoke your release. You can't get into new project. Because no project will accept if you have ML plans in near future. And generally it's advised to inform ML plans before 2-3mons of delivery and you already did that. So, be cool. They cannot terminate ML resources. You will be in your current project until you return from your ML. Then it's their decision to release you or utilise you. You are in safe position. Congratulations and Enjoy your pregnancy πŸŽ‰

I've 4.5 months for ML. And roll off from this project was scheduled last year .date was finalized already as project is ending so they can't keep me in project.

That's their problem. You don't have to worry. Even if they roll off you will be billable as per bench policies until you are back from ML or they might tag you into a short term project since you have 5 more months. Anyhow you won't get terminated as per company policies until you are back from ML.So don't worry about your job. You are in safe place.

My suggestion is get into project and don’t inform that ur going to ML after 15 working days inform ur lead that you gonna take ML

This is entirely personal decision but i can tell you few rules in Accenture and all rules are favorable so my advice would be inform officially, if your supervisor knows officially that communication can also be considered aa official notification

Once you officially inform project

  • Project can't roll off you
  • you can't be put on IP until you resume work post maternity leaves
  • organization can't ask you to resign even if you are on bench
  • in case you end up on bench and new project plans to lock you, do inform them about your health situation

Having said that , informing about your pregnancy id entirety your personal decision

Please do tell your bench lead and HR partner immediately. However don't tell the prospective new project, until they ask directly ( I was for a particular one ). Get a new project, settle down then tell them depending on the stage of pregnancy. Ideally your project should get 3 months to prepare for your absence.
TELL your bench lead and HR partner tomorrow please. Keep it in mail.

I'm currently in a project, will get roll off this month. So will let HR and Bench lead asap.

Are you on a Project Bench now? Did your current project know about your pregnancy? Was it in mail?

do check as I've heard in general that they can't force you to resign during ML.. I've heard this from outside of accenture but might be a general policy

Not like force resignation while being on ML, I'm worried for what if they asks me to resign while being on bench..

Make as much use of it possible. Get on a leave now. And congratulations!

Thank you 😊 I'm doing great now with very less work pressure so I guess no need to take leaves now, will use it in third trimester when my work efficiency will be less.

As per the rule, if your going on ML any project Cannot roll off. U will he tagged back to old project. So its better to tell

I told supervisor about it after getting roll off notification.. I'm just worried about being on bench or in new project..

As per process, project should bear the cost of person who is going on MAL. You have informed your supervisor which should be enough. Even if you have not informed and went to MAL they are going to assign you back to your current project.Still you can check with him if any necessary documents needs to be shared. No one is going to take your job for sure. Once you return you will get some time to look for project. All the best
