Trending @Accenture; Shift B is a fraud

I recently joined a project where they told me that we would work in shift B ( 12:30-9:30).

Initially, I refused to join the project however the PM somehow convinced me and I joined the project.

It's been almost a week and here only 3 developers are working for almost 12 hrs.

The PM asked me to log in early around 10:30 am-11 am and connect with peers and our day ends by 10 pm.

One of the developers is working till midnight 12-1:30 am.

I recently joined and I am facing a mental health issue.

Anyone who is working in the same shifts please share your experiences also and suggest some solution should I ask PM to roll off me as I'm not feeling well?

Also, I'm not much interested in the project work (ETL)

If I ask for a rolloff will they give negative feedback. I have worked on this project for 2 months.

What is problem with them? If we don't vouch for their orders. They go and ruin our feedback? I'm sick of their mentality

I am on same boat, I am in Shift-B, everyday we login at 12pm and logging out at 12:30am to 1am, when we raised complaint about they are asking us to apply for Shift-C allowance whenever we are working past 12am. Throwing money is not a solution. By sitting for long hours we are getting back and neck pain

True I'm working 11:30 am to 2 or 2:30 am and my neck and back started to hurt + health is also hampering

Atleast they are offering to give shift allowance, I work in regular shift and everyday it goes up to 12:00 am 9:00 am first call starts. No life outside work. They don't even give shift allowance

I can understand this as I've also faced similar issue, I used to start work at 10 AM and end by 1 or 2 AM, I had so much dependency that I used stay online

once I took planned leave and some production defects came up at that time, since there was no one available I had to work while travelling

Then management noticed the dependency and brought new resource, now I strictly log off by 8 PM, if anything comes up I can check it next day

I am in shifts B as well. I login by 10:45 as our first meeting is at 11 a.m. ( strategically planned).

  • Meeting with Indian teams goes generally till 2.
Little time to so the work that you got overnight over emails/ in morning meetings/ your own backlog.
  • By 4, Aregentina team login and loop goes again for next 3-4 hours.
  • Actual mess starts when US people login. Overlap with Argentina and US team is like being on toes, doing just the highest priority work and pick other tasks after 8:30-9:00.

Also, the stakeholder space is vast.

I faced same situation, on Feb I got a project of shift B, I raised concern then only that I am not comfortable with the timings and provided family reasons. At starting they tried to convinced me that I can work on shift A, but I knw that was the trap. I asked them to roll off me.. and after two months they provided me roll off. Provide solid reason, they will give roll off and no negative feedback will be there.

I work in same shift but my timings are not stretched. It all depends on project and manager

Working shift b..10:30-9..as client calls will be there around 7-8 and sometimes other call once in a week 9:30-10:30..but you can take lots of break in middle of the day

They wont give rolloff easily , they keep excusing and take 1 -2 years to give you that
