I have asked my manager to release me from my current project a month ago , she said she'll release me once she gets a replacement. Now, can I again ask her regarding my release bow or should I wait till she gives me any update

Since your current project is involved in Aug -sept consideration hike communication, better be quiet for 2 months till November . Once you get hike communication you can deny working at the current project stating as i already requested to release from the project.

If you are not worried about the hike Just ask aggressively .
