Its been more than 8 months in kolkata, but i want to relocate to pune joined as a fresher so Should I ask team if I can report from another location? Suggest me please😅
Yes go ahead and ask your senior manager. Get ready to give them a reason. Or else, if you don't want to relocate permanently, move to pune.. see if you like the place, do wfo there and then request for relocation. You won't be able to request for a relocation again for 1 year. Learnt this the hard way 🥲
Also from Kolkata. Been 6 months.
Funny thing is: 1 of my frens (we're freshers) has got a base location of Pune and is trying to move back to Kolkata.
Anyway, tbh this completely depends on the requirements of your project. I mean, say if your client is from NAM region & has a large no. of roles spreadout throughout diff cities, then chances are they won't care where you work from.
But if your team is concentrated in 1-2 locations neither of which are favorable to you, then the manager will be sceptical to relocate you.
The best shot is if you can approach your TL/AM/skip level mgr who is from a different location (eg, Pune or Blore). If there is a faction of team working from there, you may get green light... ✅
