Trending @Accenture; Rant: Accenture India ATCI HR Sucks. Salary plus Onboarding Process.

I recently completed my MBA from one of the new IIMs. I was very happy when I was to crack the interview for the Business Architect role (CH-AT-20) but then the horror began.

My placement committee forced me to accept this offer, & did not let me sit for any other company.

The shittiest part is that even being from a new IIM our fixed pay is hardly INR Rs.10,00,000/- ($12,000 approx) for us at CL10 with 35.9 months of experience . Variable hardly matters, joining bonus is just ₹50,000.

My batchmates placed in Mphasis, capgemini, tiger analytics, PwC, Delloite & other big shots IT with fixed salary ₹18,00,000 atleast.

Not only salary the worst part is the onboarding process, my onboarding was scheduled for 26th June 2024, they sent joining letter on 13th & 21st June, tickets were booked, but provided offer letter on 23rd June & initiated BGV on 24th June.

Still I confirmed from the HR about the onboarding which was about to be happen. He said it will be done, but on 24th June night 09:30 pm they called to tell me i need to cancel my tickets for the next morning. I hardly got any refund for my flight’s ticket. Although relocation allowance is ₹15,000, but almost half of it ₹8000 is gone due to cancellation.

People who symbiosis & other new & baby iims who joined said that they had provided with the shittiest hotel in the bengaluru. Work location had been changed suddenly.

They did not even hosted a lunch, or provided 21 day stay at Marriot, IBIS like they did for the batch who joined on 28th May. Rather humiliatingly they gave ₹150 food voucher to eat the shitty food from the facility below the office.

I really don’t know what to do, if you guys have any referral, can you help me.

Got sent this via a friend, thought if adding here

I know this, without doing MBA, I'm earning more salary than the MBA guys. But the main point is about the culture. It is getting deteriorated day by day. I remember when I 1st time came to Accenture as a fresher, with a package of just few lakhs, the Onboarding was much much better compared to how it was when I joined 2nd time. All points you've mentioned is valid and True. My suggestion would be, Onboarding happens only 1 time, so don't think much about it. Now think about the salary and job part whether you want to continue or not. If job is problem, try internal switching to S&C wing of Accenture. I've heard that it is doing good job and career prospect also shines brighter. If salary is your problem, utilize your network, try to get referral in any company which suits your requirement.

Apart from onboarding, where else are you seeing culture deteriorate? Also, if I can ask how are you earning more w/o MBA?

Answer to 1st question: - I've seen many instances, for example the meritocracy that we celebrate and proud of, doesn't work here. Yes man culture, over exploitation, asking for leave will make you feel that you're begging for a time off, normalising exceptions for ex. Weekend work, last min work, stretch in shifts, diverted tasks etc. Kind of works like a boiling frog strategy, where we start to feel all these things as normal. We accept and move on from these unless it becomes too much to bear. Answer to 2nd Qus - i think i made few good decision during my switch. But all credit goes to the hard bargaining that I've done. I was holding 4 to 5 offers and negotiated with every one. I switched 2 times and received near to 100% hike. That's why my salary is more than MBA grads. I shouldn't say all MBA grads specially who got placed in S&C from tier 1 clgs, but I'm atleast at par in salary with tier 2, and definitely more than tier 3 grads.

I too got placed in Accenture from new IIM in 2022 for CL 10.. My fix salary is 9.5L. Same happened with me ! Two years has passed no hike or promotion. And now these people are calling us to office with only 72k per month in hand and expenses like education loan. How can one bear the rent and food charges in new city ? It is a disgrace new IIM allowed such low salary roles in placement.

Unfortunate. Loan EMI itself will erase most of that income

Sorry for your experience. But I hope better market will solve your condition

Let me share my story:
I was told to come for the onboarding, and a place and date were given accordingly, so I booked my ticket from home, a 500 km journey. Then from the very next day, verification of documents and form filling started. After I was done with all the papers, they took my name and told me that I would not be onboarded now as my Background Verification (BGV) is still pending. I was told they would onboard me shortly.
It was a lot of frustration and disappointment. Sigh, what a waste of round-trip tickets and broken dreams had to pack up again low-query at the baggage belt. Had someone at least called to tell me beforehand, I would have canceled and stayed home. I mean, all my other friends were there (who got the same location as me) and they onboarded everyone except for one! I felt sad, more so when bombarded with questions and comments from relatives. Not even for my worst enemy would I wish an experience like the one I had.
