In my project it seems like the person who has greater MAL (months at level) would be considered for promotion. Performance really doesn’t matter. Every cycle the leads will come up with something like we will consider you for the next cycle. It’s an endless loop.
Can somebody tell how to push for promotion?
Not sure about other BDCs, but here in BDC14 (Bangalore) if you’re Kannadiga then it’s a plus point.
Leads would want to mingle up with you more.
There are many deserving people who really put their performance at first, they should be getting promoted.
But performance goes into a toss when you work in Bangalore or in a pathetic project.
It's not true.im from bnglr.but in my project,most of them or from north,including manager and lead,they always inclined towards them...
I left Accenture recently this month with MAL - 44. It is not only about the MAL and even if you are a top performer, it's in the hand of Higher management, HR is powerful and plays a key role in deciding this. Remember it is more HR oriented than project level people.
I had the highest MAL in my project and great performance too. Every cycle they kept gaving me shitty reasons. But, other close people were getting promoted. After waiting for 2.5 years, I'm finally serving the NP and fortunately got a very good job and pay. I don't think performance and MAL matters anymore.
My month of level 72 at level 10 will i get a chance of promotion for level in May that 3 month will also get added??

I joined at level 10 and I am at 33 MAL, looking for a promotion.
Last Nov they didn’t give me a hike mentioning that my CTC is up to the market standard and I was handed over just VP.
Before that, in 2023 Nov-Dec I was put into PIP. Nobody provided me a specific reason. So the management has to take a person who should be put into pip.
Even after teaching my juniors and newcomers, I was treated this way.
If last year your in pip then no promotion and variable pay will be given in past one of my colleagues got into pip she passed then ultimately it's two conditions you came in pip first is your performance second your attitude towards work is not right according to your lead and then manager agree to pull you in pip
Performance matters only if u have individual appreciation from business, did cloud elevate certis, appreciation from other teams for helping in tech queries.
If you have done all of this ,then u will stand out else MAL takes precedence
Even with all this nothing has happened since 2 cycles, and again the loop repeated that lets hope in this cycle but we can't guarantee
And I am not sure if this is the case with other projects as well….we are required to come to the office 2 days a week. But if we are not feeling well in one of those days and tell that we would like to work from home, the leads tell us to apply for sick leave 😒😒
