Trending @Accenture; PIP in Accenture and Quota per Year

Recently I have seen a lot of conversations regarding bad leadership, PIP, promotions and patience. I don't disagree with any of them. But I would like to share some of my real life experiences with you.

As for that project's senior manager I heard he always worked from home. Why? Along with daily project work he was also handling his own sweets shop. Hmmm... So I wondered why WFO is applicable for us junior employees. 😏

Next the PIP and promotion quota. People here are saying that women get promotions etc etc. Then you should add a sidekick quota too. The best sidekicks of TL, Managers and others get quicker promotion and ACE awards too. If you want to get a quick promotion you should go for this quota. You have no idea how many advantages there are for this - ACE, foreign trip, paid training recommendations... So if you can add this buttering others within your character, then service based companies are for you and you will flourish. So be witty and next time when you are having calls with Sr manager praise how well your bald manager looks and how much he inspires you in your work. πŸ˜‚

"Ethics and unconscious bias" training is available every year but do they even keep it in mind when they interact? When South Indian managers are looking for a scap goat for PIP the north comes first and so is vice versa. I understood the key reason. We can't butter up our seniors when there's a communication gap for language difference. Buttering can be best done in your own language. 😁

Last if a TL or Manager comes and tells you he isn't aware of any HR then he is the biggest liar. When promotion discussion happens the final one HR is almost always there. After the initial discussion within TLs, managers who is the 🐐to be sacrificed hr asks why he/she will be sacrificed? 😁

But sacrifice is mandatory. One per level per year. A few years back, PIP tasks were easy. Now the tasks are specially targeted so that you can't complete the tasks and get a pink slip. So the first hint you get is that you are being targeted for PIP and start searching for a switch.

As I had said many times here you can't blame managers for pink slips. That's for inorganic growth. Accenture has to balance out the expensive purchases of startups for AI. So here who is pulling the strings of the leadership who are just puppets just guess.

Best switch when you have time. Even if you are aiming high and getting promotion aim for product based companies. Because tomorrow you might be on the list just because you couldn't do overtime because of some emergency. The salary is good and you won't face bias much there. Mark my words, I didn't say you won't. I said 'much' but the CRs are available directly to your manager. There won't be a lag between the client and your Supervisor.

Best of luck with your future endeavours!

Accenture has its challenges, like favoritism and biased promotions. PIPs can be strategic, and promises aren't always kept. Many feel demotivated and consider switching jobs. Be cautious and strategic.
