In pregnancy PIP can't be given, but you need to ensure that pregnancy ia officially informed to your manager and HR. I have seen many ladies plan to inform very late like in the 6th-7th month, but the struggle in work starts from the 3rd month onwards. If pregnancy is not communicated PIP can be given.

I informed them in my 3rd month itself because last year in already lost my first baby

Performance development plan it's a focus group to check how we are performing for 40 days then if they see improvement fine orelse they will move me to PIP
