My manager is Bengali, and currently under him there are about 40 people working from various locations in India.
Within these 40 people there are 6-7 people who are Bengali and working from the Kolkata office.
We have seen that my manager is very much inclined towards these 6-7 Bengali people and is giving all the important opportunities related to career growth, promotion, hike etc mostly to these people even though other employees have been working very hard in the project and have good performance since last 2 years.
What should I do in this case as I still haven't received any news on promotion or hike even though my performance has been very good in the project since last 2 yrs?

I am currently working from Hyderabad location. It's the same here. All people from Hyderabad stay together. Because of language barrier I requested multiple times to continue the conversation in English but they would ignore. It is not the state. It's the leadership which matters.

But my manager is working from Bangalore location he is not working from Kolkata

As I said it's leadership. If they are biased you can't change it. If you are working for more than 18 months ask for roll off. On ijp find a project and talk with poc and see if the lead's mindset matches yours. Else switch.

On a serious note, start nagging the mgr, if they value you as a resource, they need to keep up their end of the bargain.
Even better since you have nothing to lose, worst case scenario is rolloff

The opposite happened to my friend. My friend is from the Kolkata location and the team is from Hyderabad. They first let him go out of the project then it of the du. Very sad to hear this type of thing happening in Accenture.
Keep your leadership informed we need to raise voice together

Same with my manager, all promotion and hikes, recognition goes to south audience nothing they release for north people, In fact he had given PIP to two of the north people who are really working hard and they are collaborating from start of the project, Also if he wants to hire a new guy, he will definitely hire a south guy!!!, not a healthy environment to work with those differences....

This is a leadership issue tbh. I am a bengali but manager is from hyderabad and he would good opportunities to other hyderabadis and even during meeting would talk in Telugu even when I would say I don't understand the language they are speaking. I got pissed and left the team and my previous team is essentially now Telugu speakers with 1-2 people from other regions.

Accenture turned into a most f*cking company. You can't do anything against management.

These managers as soon as got their preferred locations to work start getting biased towards locals and their people we too experience same with some madarchod Bangalore Managers ! They are shamelessly biased and inclient towards their people and want to give all the opportunities to them. These motherfuckers should be fired who take advantage of their job level and do injustice to other people who work to them. This is totally against accenture policy of being biased

It is common in some groups where majority of people are from same state and delivery lead gives all the opportunities, recognitions and hikes to these people only. It's better to get roll off from that group and look for other opportunities.
