21% will remain same. E.g. now you are getting 21% of 8 lakh after appraisal base pay is 9 lakh then now VP will be 21% of 9 lakh

Nope, it increases when you get promoted. For CL9 it will be increased to 27% but con is that you will mostly get 10-15

How do we know if variable pay percentage is increased post promotion. I don't see any where it's published. Is there any way to check variable pay percentage exactly

As per my understanding, the variable pay percent would remain constant even after promotion, but I did see some of colleagues to move from 21 to 27% post promotion to L9.
