What are the chances of getting onsite from. Project ? If on bench , can we ask for onsite role At level 9

After covid its very difficult to get onsite role as everyone is working in a hybrid model even clients.
If on bench try to get a project first and later check with PM if there can be any possibility for short term or long term onsite opportunity.
