Trending @Accenture; Notice Period Drama

I mailed my people lead about my resignation.Later he called and said I am accepting your resignation once you do that on workday. The shock came afterwards when he said don’t tell your project team about the resignation and continue to do your work, if you tell you will have exit problems. Now I am serving the notice period with the same amount of work intensity as before since it is the initial phase of project. What should I do ? Please help guys !

I don't understand why are you expecting less work in notice period. Are you getting paid less for that time?

You create drama that you need time for yourself, if you were really enjoyed the work then why would you resign at first place

You can't be held back beyond the stipulated notice period.
And being on notice period does NOT reduce the work load. Tough luck there

U mean we have to work till lwd with same intensity?

Yes. If you are on the project you will keep working till you submit your assets. So best case the last week will be light

Your manager is right as per project perspective. What happens is sometimes if people in your project get to know you're on notice they know they'll have to work more of the tasks of yours and will have to nurture and give KT to your replacement. But if you don't reveal your colleagues won't have that mental tension and they'll just carry on tasks as usual. These are just management level things which you should also understand. Also please do not say you need less work in the notice period. It just doesn't reflect well on you. The company pays you for your work. If you aren't doing justice to it then it doesn't sound great.

Notice period doesn’t mean no dependency, in fact it means more work. You will have to give KR to your replacement while working. You can maybe not worry about the deadlines and all as they can’t do anything but they will give you work like they used to before NP
