Trending @Accenture; Need some guidance on switching

My current package is 8.5 lpa(fixed+variable). Now I got an offer with 16 lpa(fixed+variable). I will get promotion in this May. If I put resignation now, Will my promotion be affected?

My plan is if I got promoted and my package got incremented to 10 or 11 lpa. As I’m already in notice and try to switch, I can get offers around 18-20 lpa.

Now how do I proceed? Put resignation? Or wait till promotion? Also, promotion i’m not sure. That is getting postponed from 3 years. I’m hoping this time I will get. Again not sure. Will my promotion get affected, if I put resignation now?

Please help me to decide.

I think if you are in notice period you won't get any hike or promotion.

Ohh…then what to do? If I don’t put resignation, I’ll lose other offer. Also I need that promotion, It will boost my resume

You are already getting 100% hike.then why to wait for this promotion. Anyway you can show this offer to other companies.. and then counter offer to your recent company.

  1. Let us assume you own a company, you have a team of 10 members out of which you would have to put 1 in PIP, 1 promotion, 4 people with 4* rating and 4 with 3* rating.

Now all 10 members are good, everyone deserves promotion.

Now if you knew that 1 person will leave(already resigned)

why would you even give promotion??

What I would suggest is don't put papers now, get the promotion hike and again speak to a new organization that you are willing to join and request for a revised offer letter.. So that you get benefited in both places.

Will that new organisation will wait till then?

It happened for me while I declined an offer with IBM, after 6 months ,once I got hike from current organization, I went back to IBM saying that this is my revised salary and I am. Willing to join now, can you please check if any opportunities exist, fortunately 1 opening was there in 2015, my new updated offer was released and I joined. Lesson learnt is patience is the key and keep trying.

Looks like you are confused. Resign and then in last month of notice period you can increase your current offer also.

Don’t stay in Accenture. Chances of promotion are very less in June 25. Even if they promote you, don’t expect more than 15%.

You can put down your papers and use the 16LPA offer to negotiate 18-20 from other companies.

Btw how did u tackle the 90 days NP and which company is accepting 3 months NP by providing good package as well

Once you submit your papers and if u r in notice period, you will not get any promotion. And 8 to 16 is a 100% hike. .. dont think anything... just switch.

My suggestion will be. Resign from the current job. Then try for other companies from this package 16LPA, you can get 18-20. If not you have an offer of 16, but don't go for the promotion trap.

If you have an offer already resign , promotion is difficult , also no hike for non promotion cases.

If you are planning to resign anyway may be some one else will get benifitted.
